Professor Hewitt worked in the Reagan administration for over six years, holding positions such as Assistant Counsel in the White House and Special Assistant to two Attorneys General. Hewitt has served on the California Arts Council, the South Coast Air Management District, and the Orange County Children and Families Commission since returning to California in 1989 to oversee the development of the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. His wife and he live in Orange County.
