Grace Ueng Biography

Grace is driven by a desire to succeed, and she instills this ambition in her clients. Her 25-year career has taken her from consulting at Bain & Company to working for Fortune 500 companies such as General Mills, Clorox, and Time Inc., as well as contributing to five b2c and b2b technology startups that have gone public or been acquired. She has worked on management teams that have returned over $1 billion to investors. Grace was vice president of marketing for SmartPath, a visionary leader in marketing resource management that was acquired to DoubleClick before she founded Savvy Marketing Group in 2003. Grace was also vice president of global marketing for TogetherSoft, a fast-growing software application development tool company that was bought by Borland. She was also the vice president of marketing at OpenSite Technologies, the world's leading provider of dynamic commerce software and services. Grace grew her brand recognition and market share to the point that Siebel Systems bought her out. Siebel, the world's top provider of customer relationship management systems, has subsequently been bought by Oracle, and she was named senior director, product marketing. Grace graduated from MIT with a bachelor's degree in management science and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. She was named one of Glamour's Top 10 College Women in the Nation for her leadership and academic success while at MIT. She has taught adjunct courses at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and at Fudan University in Shanghai's international MBA program, which is a joint venture with MIT Sloan School. Ms. Ueng is an adviser to the North Carolina Chinese Business Association, director of the North Carolina School of Science and Math Foundation board, the Harvard Club of Research Triangle, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in addition to serving on many private boards. Her areas of interest as an author and speaker include education, bilateral ties between the United States and China, and healthcare concerns.
