Evan Wolfson is the founder and president of Freedom to Marry, a national campaign to legalize marriage. The National Law Journal ranked Wolfson among the 100 most prominent attorneys in America in 2000, citing his national leadership on marriage and his appearance before the US Supreme Court in Boy Scouts of America v. James Dale.
He was designated one of the world's 100 most influential persons by TIME Magazine. Along with President Barack Obama, Wolfson won the Barnard Medal of Distinction in 2012.
