Dick Costolo, the former CEO of Twitter, was previously the company's COO. In October 2010, he succeeded Evan Williams as CEO. Costolo earned a B.S. in computer and communication sciences from the University of Michigan in 1985, where he was also a Phi Gamma Delta social fraternity brother.
Costolo got into the theatre during his senior year at the University of Michigan when he started taking theatrical classes to meet the university's graduation requirements. He turned down offers from technological businesses after college and instead relocated to Chicago to engage in comedy writing.
