Denise Pope, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer at Stanford University's Graduate School of Education, focusing on student involvement, curricular studies, qualitative research techniques, and service-learning. Dr. Pope created and managed the SOS: Stressed-Out Students initiative from 2003 to 2008. Challenge Success is an extended version of that program.
She is the co-author of Overloaded and Underprepared: Strategies for Stronger Schools and Healthy, Successful Kids, and the author of Doing School: How We Are Creating a Generation of Stressed-Out, Materialistic, and Miseducated Students, which was named a Notable Book in Education by the American School Board Journal in 2001.
