David H. Grinspoon (born 1959) is an astrobiologist from the United States. He is a Senior Scientist at the Planetary Science Institute and the 2012-2013 Baruch S. Blumberg NASA/Library of Congress Chair in Astrobiology. His study is focused on comparative planetology, namely climate evolution on Earth-like planets and its ramifications for habitable worlds.
He has also researched, written about, and taught about humanity's impact on Earth from a cosmic perspective. Venus Revealed and Lonely Planets: The Natural Philosophy of Alien Life are his two works, the latter of which won the 2004 PEN literary prize for nonfiction. He teaches Astrophysical and Planetary Science at the University of Colorado as an adjunct professor.
