David Gelb is an American film director and co-founder of Supper Club, a production company. He directed the 2011 documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. In 2015, he directed The Lazarus Effect. He is also the creator of the Netflix series Chef's Table. Gelb was born in Manhattan, New York City.

He attended the Masters School and graduated from the University of Southern California. His father is Peter Gelb, the general manager of the Metropolitan Opera; his paternal grandfather was the late Arthur Gelb, a former managing editor of The New York Times. David Gelb released Jiro Dreams of Sushi in 2011 and The Lazarus Effect in 2015.
