Dan Schiebler is the Machine Learning Modeling Engineer at Twitter Cortex, the machine learning technology development hub of Twitter.

In addition to his work at Twitter, Schiebler works as a Deep Learning researcher at the Serre Lab at Brown University, where he tries to build neural networks that think like humans.

Previously, Schiebler was a Senior Data Scientist at TrueMotion, where he built machine learning algorithms that use smartphone sensors to understand and score driving behaviors. He led TrueMotion’s efforts on developing smartphone IMU algorithms to detect hard brakes and distracted driving.

Schiebler was awarded the 2014 Undergraduate Teaching and Research Award, during his time as a Neurosurgery Researcher at the Rhode Island Hospital.

He also worked as a Data Programmer in the Brown University Library, Computational Biology Software Consultant at the Weinreich Lab, and Computer Science Teaching Assistant during his time at Brown University.

Schiebler received a combined degree in Neuroscience and Computer Science at Brown University.
