Full-time mother to her children Andre Earvin Johnson III (EJ) and Elisa and wife of legendary basketball player Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, Cookie Johnson is a dedicated public servant. Addressing the health, social and educational needs of those residing in underserved communities, she serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Magic Johnson Foundation. Ms. Johnson is also involved in the development of the Foundation's overall goals, objectives ,and programs.
Joining her husband and Abbott in their continued fight to end Black HIV/AIDS, Cookie is the first spokeswoman for the I Stand with Magic campaign. The National Medical Association Immunization Public Service Announcement spokesperson, the Children's Defense Fund honorary chairperson, establishing the BREATHE Program in an instrumental role, and serving as chairwoman of Prototypes, a program that provides education and care for women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, are among other accolades that Ms. Johnson has received.
