Christopher Worsham is an American physician, health policy researcher, and author, known for his work in critical care medicine and health economics. Worsham earned his M.D. from Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine, completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Boston Medical Center, and trained in pulmonary and critical care at Massachusetts General Hospital. He also holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, focusing on quantitative methods. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a practicing pulmonologist and critical care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Worsham’s research explores how healthcare systems and policies impact patient outcomes, often using natural experiments to uncover hidden patterns. He co-authored the 2023 book “Random Acts of Medicine” with Anupam Jena, which examines how chance events—like a doctor’s schedule or a patient’s birth timing—shape medical care. The book, praised by The Wall Street Journal and Forbes, draws from their research and has been featured on NPR and Good Morning America. Worsham contributes to outlets like The New York Times and The Washington Post.
