At age 7, Fleisher became involved in golf by performing as a caddie alongside his two brothers. His love for golf continued through to age 19 when he became the third youngest player to win the United States Amateur Championship. By the mid 80’s, he was working as a club professional and taking home such first place titles as the 1981 International Panama Open and the 1989 PGA Club Pro Championship. Listing influential figures Arnold Palmer and President George W. Bush as his heroes, Fleisher’s championship streak prevailed through to the 1990 Brazilian, Bahamas, and Jamaican Open; he then took home the win for the 1991 New England Classic among several other international and USGA games.

Known by GolfWorld magazine as “Mr. Nice Guy,” Fleisher spent 1999 as a rookie on the PGA Senior Tour, and was the first player ever to score back-to-back victories in his first two events. In 2001, Fleisher joined Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as the elite group of players that have won both the US Amateur Championship and the US Senior Open. Fleisher’s extensive list of awards, including the PGA Senior Tour Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year Award, certainly note his best achievements as a golfer. He also holds the record for having the most wins in a 3 year span by any professional golfer, and proclaims that his favorite golf course to date is Pebble Beach.
