Brian Newman, famous for being Lady Gaga’s jazz bandleader, is a Cleveland-born singer and trumpeter attaining his dream of becoming a New York City Jazz man. Brain joined forced with Gaga and Tony Bennett on the Grammy-winning album, Cheek to Cheek. He has made appearances on significant television broadcast stations and promotional appearances on MTV’s Video Music Awards, The Today Show and Saturday Night Live, ABC’s A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, PBS’s Great Performances, NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center, BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Radio 1′s Big Weekend, The Tonight Show and Good Morning America. Brian’s trumpet performance with Gaga was also captured on 2011’s A Very Gaga Holiday EP as well as a special jazz version of Gaga’s hit “You and I” which she tweeted was inspired by “too many whiskies with Newman.” At the Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel, Brian continues to perform on Tuesday and Thursday nights due to his long term weekly residency as bandleader. And he often shows up for special live performances with a variety of musical acts ranging from The Dirty Pearls, rock stalwarts, Willie Nile to country’s Dierks Bentley. Coming to fame and managing his famous much talked about burlesque show and “After Dark” Jazz at Duane Park as well as his two-year run at the Plaza Hotel’s legendary Oak Room. In 2011, Brian led the closing night of the Big Apple institution in his usual style. Him and his group of four singers served up a memorable performance radiating so much joy and energy. Realizing the importance of the event, Brian kept performing and the busy refined crowd recorded his performance and it was released as his debut album called Live From New York City. Brian then secured his iconic notorious cocktail culture status with a string of Late Night Jazz performances at Feinstein’s at the Loews Regency later that year. Brian’s popularity makes him a sought after bandleader and master of ceremonies by numerous brands for special high-profile performances and events. In 2012, Jack Daniel chose Brain to usher in the release of its Sinatra Select premium Tennessee Whiskey in celebration of the brand’s famous association with Ol’ Blue Eyes; and in Cannes, Brian shared the same stage with Frank Sinatra, Jr. Brian was chosen to host Tiffany & Co.’s Roaring Twenties-themed Blue Book Ball in 2013 to celebrate the famous jeweler’s Jazz Age collection inspired by the remake of The Great Gatsby by Baz Luhrmann. Brian’s “old school” sense of style got him a pass into Hollywood. Starring in various film and television performances like Hey Bartender, in which he recorded the songs “One for My Baby” and “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,” as well as feature film Friends with Kids and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. On The Greg James Show on BBC Radio, Brian was named the official trumpet player. He has featured in many publications including StyleLikeU, PMC Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, and Lifestyle Mirror for his bespoke and stylish fashion in his musical videos.
