Wolf's journey since that fateful night can be summed up in a quiet deal he made at Drew's funeral: he will never stop fighting for a world he can be appreciative of. Weeks after the incident, Wolf started sharing his survivor's story as part of the effort to change gun policy in America.

He is known as a significant surrogate for Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy's successful reelection bid against an NRA-backed incumbent, and he ended up joining the Advisory Panel of The Pride Fund to End Gun Violence, an LGBTQ gun violence prevention Political Action Committee. At the Democratic National Convention in August 2016, Wolf joined then-candidate Hillary Clinton in calling for change.

However, the significant change did not occur. That year, the country that elected Donald Trump to the presidency, and hopes for new gun-control legislation started to fade. The shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018 reignited public outrage, bringing Wolf's survival story back into the spotlight.

He marched alongside Parkland students in Tallahassee and Washington, District of Columbia, supplying strong remarks from the State Capitol steps and rallying LGBTQ participants at The Human Rights Campaign headquarters. He became a familiar face on cable news networks, criticising leaders for failing to take action on issues such as equality as well as gun crime.

Wolf went on talk shows in his home state of Oregon to discuss the need for structural reforms, aided in the passing of Florida's first gun safety legislation in 20 years, by becoming the 1st survivor of the Pulse Nightclub shooting to give testimony before the United States House of Representatives in 2019.

In the summer pursuing the Pulse nightclub tragedy, he assisted in the formation of The Dru Project, an LGBTQ youth organization that fosters encompassing school environments as well as offers college funding to evolving queer representatives.
