Bill Adair is the Knight Professor of the Practice of Journalism and Public Policy and the Director of the DeWitt Wallace Center for Media and Democracy. Adair, one of 25 Knight Chairs at colleges throughout the country, focuses on fact-checking and accountability journalism in her research and teaching.
Adair, the founder of the Pulitzer Prize-winning website PolitiFact, has been hailed as a pioneer in fact-checking and digital journalism. He worked as a writer and editor for the Tampa Bay Times (previously the St. Petersburg Times) for 24 years, and he was the paper's Washington Bureau Chief from 2004 to 2013.
