Alyson J. McGregor, MD MA FACEP is a women’s health pioneer who has brought the concept of sex and gender differences in the delivery of acute medical care to the national stage. She is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, the Co-Founder and Director for the Division of Sex and Gender in Emergency Medicine (SGEM) at Brown University’s Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. McGregor also serves as the Director for the SGEM Fellowship, Chair of the SGEM Community Advisory Board, Course Director for Women’s Health at the Alpert Medical School Emergency Medicine Residency and past President of the Rhode Island Medical Women’s Association.

Nationally, Dr. McGregor is a Co-Founder and Board Member for Sex and Gender Women’s Health Collaborative, a national organization designed to foster sex- and gender- specific medicine into medical education, training and clinical practice. Dr. McGregor served on the summit planning committee for the Sex and Gender Based Medical Education Summit, the first summit designed to bring together curriculum leaders of all medical schools nationally to advance how future physicians are educated.
