In the independent romance drama Swordswallowers and Thin Men, where she played Samantha, Zoe Kazan made her acting debut in a major motion picture in 2003. She gave up performing to pursue a degree in drama at Yale University, where she graduated in 2005. She discovered a passion for writing while in college and joined Yale's Manuscript Society, which had illustrious alumni like Jodie Foster and Anderson Cooper.
