Zbigniew Brzezinski is a political scientist, geostrategist, and statesman of Polish-American descent. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, to a diplomat's family, and grew up in France and Germany before moving to Canada with his father in 1938. He graduated from McGill University with a BA and MA in 1949 and 1950, respectively, and Harvard University with a Ph.D.
in political science in 1953. He became a citizen of the United States in 1958.
