Traveler, writer, consultant, and public speaker Zak Dychtwald has visited several countries. Zak has traveled widely across five continents in an effort to better understand what makes individuals and civilizations unique. In order to tour the nation and get to know China's youth on their terms, he came to China after receiving his degree from Columbia University in 2012.
Zak came to the realization that the China we talk about in the West is very different from the new China he saw emerging over the course of the following four years while living in tenements, hostels, and high rises, traveling on lengthy trains through both the Eastern megacities and China's developing interior and interviewing locals from Guangzhou to Chengdu to Shangri-La.
