I am a general anthropologist with a particular interest in the Maya civilization of Guatemala and Mexico and Mesoamerican archaeology. Despite having expertise in Maya epigraphy, survey lithic analysis, and remote sensing mapping, I view myself as a generalist. One of the remaining disciplines where an interest in humanity and science may coexist is archaeology.
I'm curious about the diversity of earlier civilizations because many aspects of those cultures were closely intertwined. To better comprehend the past and how to reflect it, I read widely and study their written and visual artifacts as well as their settlement.
