Young Thug is the stage name of Atlanta-born rapper, songwriter, and record producer Jeffery Lamar Williams. He is renowned for his distinctive voice style, appearance, and character. He originally gained notoriety through his associations with the artists Rich Homie Shawty Lo and Gucci Mane receive money from Quan Birdman.
I Came From Nothing, the first in a series of independent mixtapes created by Young Thug, was released in 2011. He joined Gucci Mane's 1017 Records at the beginning of 2013, and later that year, to much acclaim, he released his label's first mixtape, 1017 Thug.
