Yoanna House was born on April 9, 1980, in Jacksonville, Florida, to parents who were half Mexican and half Canadian. She was interested in fashion since she was a youngster, and she used to put on fashion shows for her family. House was slightly overweight throughout her adolescent years, which hampered her hopes of being a model.
By the time she arrived at college, House had decided to forego her remaining three years and work as a fashion designer's assistant while also babysitting. House was interested in applying for America's Next Top Model in 2003 but chose to reduce weight first. She dropped from a size 10 to a size 2 after losing 60 pounds.
