Yashwant Sinha, a former finance minister of India, is largely regarded for advancing a number of significant reform initiatives that set the Indian economy on a stable development track. He joined the Janata Party and the Rajya Sabha in 1984 to start his political career. He then served as the BJP's national spokesperson and finance minister from 1998 to 2002.
He presently serves as the BJP's vice president. After completing his studies in Patna, Bihar, Sinha began his career by working as a professor there. Sinha spent several years in Germany throughout his administrative career, first serving as First Secretary (Commercial) at the Indian Embassy Bonn and subsequently as the Consul General of India in Frankfurt.
