Masamoto Yashiro is a Japanese businessman and the Chairman and CEO of Shinsei Bank, as well as a director of China Construction Bank. He earned a law degree from Kyoto University and went on to the University of Tokyo for graduate study. In 1958, he joined Standard-Vacuum Oil Company and in 1964, he joined Esso Petroleum as a director. In 1989, he was named Chairman of Citibank Japan.
