The Martin and Margy Meyerson Professor of Urbanism and Professor of Real Estate at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School is Witold Rybczynski. Makeshift Metropolis: Ideas about Cities is his most recent book. He is the Slate architectural critic and the author of the highly regarded books Home and A Clearing in the Distance.

Rybczynski is a member of the US Commission of Fine Arts and the 2007 Vincent Scully Prize winner from the National Building Museums.
