Winston Ma is the managing director of the China Investment Corporation (CIC) and head of the CIC's North American office in Toronto. He specializes in long-term investments in highly concentrated positions of significant size. Ma has had leading positions in significant direct transactions in the natural resources, agribusiness, high-tech, and financial services industries since joining CIC at its start in 2008. Ma was the deputy head of equity capital markets at Barclays Capital in New York before joining CIC. He also held the positions of vice president at JPMorgan Investment Banking and corporate attorney at the New York offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell and Freshfields in Shanghai. In addition to writing the book China's Mobile Economy, Mas is the author of Investing in China.
