Willie Hayes, a former college basketball player and current college basketball head coach at Alabama A&M University, was born on July 12, 1967. He signed a deal in 2011 that would last until the 2015 season. Hayes was an AAMU point guard. He set several school records and is widely regarded as one of the finest players to ever represent AAMU. He was named SIAC Player of the Year in 1989, AAMU Male Athlete of the Year in 1990, and Mayor's Cup Classic MVP in 1997, breaking his school mark for career assists (669).
