In the summer of 1990, Willie Degel, a restaurateur, TV personality, author, and tenacious businessman, established his first restaurant, Hollywood and Main in Flushing Queens. Since then, he hasn't looked back. In New York City, he launched the first of three renowned Uncle Jacks's's Steakhouses six years later, where he perfected his special strategy for expanding the company.
Degel was successful in transferring his financial acumen into the Food Network television program Restaurant Stakeout. In each episode, Degel visits restaurants that are having financial difficulties and helps them by demonstrating to the owners what actually occurs when they don't think anyone is looking.
