Williamson M. Evers is an expert in the study of educational policy, particularly as it relates to the curriculum, teaching, testing, accountability, and financial management of schools from kindergarten through high school. From 2007 to 2009, Evers served as the US assistant secretary of education for policy.
In 2007, he served as a senior advisor to Margaret Spellings, the US secretary of education. Evers was named to the previous California State Commission for the Establishment of Academic Content and Performance Standards by Governor Pete Wilson in 1996.
