William Nack is a journalist and novelist from the United States. He spent 11 years at Newsday writing on sports, politics, and the environment before joining the Sports Illustrated team in 1978 as an investigative reporter and general feature writer. Nack has freelanced for a variety of publications since leaving S.I. in 2001, including GQ and ESPN.com.
He also consulted on the made-for-TV film Ruffian (2007) and the Disney film Secretariat (2010).
