Before tackling the role of Lee Carter in the 2007 film Son of Rambow, which was released to good reviews and acclaim for the performances of Poulter and his co-star Bill Milner, Poulter held several acting roles.
He also appeared in School of Comedy, a young comedy series whose pilot episode aired on Channel 4's Comedy Lab on August 21, 2008. The whole arrangement of the School of Comedy was then sent by Channel 4, and it debuted on October 2, 2009. A second series was followed by the program's conclusion.
