Will Chase Biography

Will Chase is an American actor and musician best known for his work in Broadway musicals and for his current role as Luke Wheeler, the hotshot of the country, on ABC's Nashville. He made his Broadway debut in 1998 as the Squeegee Man and Roger understudy in Rent. He also appeared as the final Roger in the production of Rent that ran on Broadway and was videotaped for the movie Rent: Filmed Live on Broadway. His additional Broadway credits include Lennon (2005), Aida (Radames substitution 2003 and 2004), The Full Monty as Jerry Lukowski's replacement (2001), Miss Saigon (with Lea Salonga playing Kim to close the Broadway production), and another role started by Pascal and Tony in Billy Elliot the Musical, Aida (Radames substitution 2003 and 2004). Additionally, he played Captain Crewe in the musical A Little Princess. He performed the role of Neville Craven in The Secret Garden's 2005 World AIDS Day production. He appeared in the short-lived Broadway production of High Fidelity in 2006, and he played Valentin at the Signature Theater in Arlington, Virginia's Kiss of the Spider Woman, for which he was chosen to receive the 2009 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. In July 2007, he appeared opposite Kate Baldwin in The Pajama Game at The Muny. In addition, he appeared in the Broadway musical The Story of My Life with Malcolm Gets in February 2009 as well as in Oklahoma in 2007 at the Lyric Theater opposite Kelli O'Hara.
