Wick Moorman Biography

Wick Moorman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Norfolk Southern Corporation, is a graduate of Georgia Tech and Harvard Business School and a native of Hattiesburg, Miss. He began his railroad career in 1970 as a co-op student and worked in the maintenance of way and transportation departments early in his career, so he has a personal understanding of railroad operations. Wick has held a variety of executive positions with Norfolk Southern. He worked as an assistant vice president for stations, terminals, and transportation planning, as well as vice presidents for people and labor relations and information technology. Wick served as head of Thoroughbred Technology and Telecommunications and senior vice president of corporate planning and services until becoming president of Norfolk Southern in 2004. In 2005, he was made president and CEO, and in 2006, he was named chairman, president, and CEO. In June 2013, he was named chairman and chief executive officer.
