Wenlan launched her company in 2000 with a selection of vibrant, overflowing, heavy-weave sweaters that have since come to symbolize Twinkle. In February 2002, during the Gen Art Fresh Faces in Fashion Show, Twinkle by Wenlan had its runway premiere.
The main collection received praise from the New York Times, which awarded it high marks, and Women's Wear Daily, which saw it as a high point of the week. Since then, Twinkle has consistently performed at New York Fashion Week.
