The JD/MPH program at the law school is coordinated with Tufts University School of Medicine as well as the Program on Health Policy and Law by educator and major expert Wendy Parmet. She received the Matthews Distinguished University Professor designation in the spring of 2003, which recognizes and fosters the original and perceptive work of prominent Northeastern University faculty.
Professor Parmet received recognition for her national leadership in interdisciplinary reasoning and critical thinking on issues related to social insurance in 2015 when she was named a joint (with the law) employee of Northeastern University's School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs.
