Warren Edward Buffett is a commercial financier, speculator, and humanitarian from the United States. Buffett serves as Berkshire Hathaway's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman in his absence. Some believe him to be one of the world's top financial experts, and as of August 2017, he was the second wealthiest person in the United States and the fourth wealthiest person on the planet, with absolute total assets of $76.9 billion. Buffett was born in Omaha and had an interest in business while growing up, eventually enrolling at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1947 and graduating from the University of Nebraska Lincoln at the age of 19.
