Walter Isaacson is the president and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a Washington, DC-based nonpartisan educational and policy research organization. He began his career as a reporter for the Sunday Times of London, then moved on to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Before becoming TIME's 14th editor in 1996, he worked as a political correspondent, national editor, and editor of digital media. In 2001, he was named Chairman and CEO of CNN, and in 2003, he was named President and CEO of the Aspen Institute.
