Vivienne Ming Biography

Vivienne Ming is a theoretical neuroscientist, technologist, and entrepreneur who was named one of Inc. Magazine's 10 Women to Watch in Tech in 2013. She co-founded Socos, a company that uses machine learning and cognitive neuroscience to improve students' lives. Vivienne is also a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley's Center for Theoretical Neuroscience, where she conducts neuroprosthetics research. In her spare time, Vivienne has created a diabetes prediction model to help her diabetic son control his glucose levels, as well as systems to anticipate manic episodes in bipolar patients. She serves on the boards of StartOut, The Palm Center, Emozia, and the Bay Area Rainbow Daycamp, as well as Credit Suisse, Cornerstone Capital, and BayesImpact. Vivienne also regularly lectures on the topics of LGBT inclusiveness and gender in technology. Vivienne resides in Berkeley, California, with her husband (and co-founder) and two daughters.
