Vivek WadhwaSpeaker and Booking Agent Information

His research focuses on crucial developments in robotics, artificial intelligence, computers, synthetic biology, 3D printing, medicine, and nanomaterials, as well as how these advances are causing disruptive shifts for businesses, industries, governments, and society as a whole.

He is a Distinguished Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University's College of Engineering, where he lectures on the newest exponential technologies, technological convergence and industry disruption, risks and regulation, and the new laws of innovation on CMU's Silicon Valley campus.

Vivek has also served as the Director of Research at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering, the Vice President of Innovation and Research at Singularity University, and as a Fellow at Stanford University's Rock Center for Corporate Governance, Harvard Law School, and Emory University. He has held up to six concurrent posts at prestigious universities.

Vivek's syndicated weekly for The Washington Post is one of the most popular pieces on technology and innovation in the world.

In addition to his most recent book, The Driver in the Driverless Car: How Our Technology Choices Will Shape the Future, he also wrote The Immigrant Exodus: Why America Is Losing the Global Race to Capture Entrepreneurial Talent, which was named a Book of the Year of 2012 by The Economist, and Innovating Women: The Changing Face of Technology, for which he was named #2 on the Financial Times' global list of the top ten men worth emulating.

Vivek's ability to communicate the complexity of global technology breakthroughs in simple, even lyrical ways has made him one of the world's most in-demand keynote presenters. Every year, he delivers over 100 presentations to the most renowned and influential audiences, including world leaders, CEOs, business organizations, universities, entrepreneurial groups, and a slew of national science and engineering academies.

He began his work as a software developer, where he obtained a thorough grasp of the difficulties involved in designing computer systems. His work as Vice President of Information Services at investment banking behemoth CS First Boston (CSFB) was so effective that CSFB chose to spin off that business unit into its own firm, Seer Technologies.

Wadhwa, as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, was instrumental in growing the fledgling business into a $118 million publicly listed firm. Vivek launched Relativity Technology in response to the Internet's phenomenal expansion, which provided him with an even bigger chance to assist businesses in adapting to new and rapidly changing technologies.

Because of his vision, Forbes.com named Wadhwa a Leader of Tomorrow, and Fortune called Relativity one of the world's 25 trendiest firms.

In 2012, the United States government recognized Wadhwa as a "Outstanding American by Choice" for his "commitment to this country and to the fundamental civic principles that bind us as Americans." In that same year, he was named one of the world's "Top 100 Global Thinkers" by Foreign Policy magazine; in June 2013, he was named one of TIME's "Tech 40," a list of forty of the most influential minds in technology; and in September 2015, he was ranked second on a list of "ten men worth emulating" by the Financial Times.
