Virginia Berridge is a history professor and the director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine's Center for History in Public Health. Virginia specializes on the history of post-World War II public health policy, especially smoking, illicit drugs, and alcohol, the role of the media, and the relationship between science and policy.
Her most recent work is Marketing Health: Smoking and Public Health Discourse in Britain 1945-2000. Virginia and her team have a long history of sharing arrangement relevant research. They have an ongoing open commitment program financed by the Wellcome Trust and host traditional events that bring together antiquarians, researchers, and health policymakers.
