The CEO of the BIDCO Group, a significant manufacturer, marketer, and retailer of eatable oils, fats, and clean goods in Africa, is Vimal Shah. Shah transformed BIDCO from a small, inconspicuous company into the most renowned manufacturer in East Africa. BIDCO adheres to the 10 global criteria of the United Nations Worldwide Compact. Shah is also a working member of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria through BIDCO. According to 2012 All Africa Business Leaders Awards, he was regarded as the East African Entrepreneur of the Year. Mwai Kibaki, the then-president of Kenya, was honored in 2011 for his dedication to advancing the country by receiving the First Class: Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear. A contextual study of BIDCO was done by Harvard Business School in order to create a victory model for various projects. Shah serves as the vice president of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance and a member of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers' board of directors. He graduated from United States International University-Africa with a Bachelor of Science in business organization and accounting.
