Victor Petrenko was born and raised in Odesa, Ukraine, not far from the Black Sea, but he has lived in the United States since 1992. After several years spent living in the rural town of Simsbury, Connecticut, he now resides in Manhattan with his girlfriend Nina, a choreographer, and their young daughter Victoria, who was born here.
Petrenko won the Olympic World and European gold medals in 1992, marking the pinnacle of his extraordinarily serious career. His charitable achievements are equally notable. When American pair skater Katie Wood suffered a brain injury competing in Ukraine in 1990, he ensured that she had access to truly essential medical resources.
