Victor Matarranz Biography

At Banco Santander, Victor Matarranz holds the positions of Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Group Strategy, and Executive Chairman's Office. He also oversees the $100 million Santander Fintech Fund, which invests in Fintech projects. Prior to that, he spent more than two years shaping the bank's strategy while leading the advancement team as the Director of Strategy and Chief of Staff to the CEO at Santander UK. Victor was a partner at McKinsey & Company before joining Santander in the middle of 2012. He worked in retail banking in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Spain. He spearheaded the multichannel and retail appropriation initiatives in Europe. Victor has an MBA from London Business School and a diploma as a Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He loves the development of music and motorsports. He is married and has two children.
