Since 2014, Victor Dzau has served as the National Academy of Medicine's president. He already held the positions of chancellor for health initiatives, president and chief executive officer of Duke University Health System, professor at Harvard Medical School, director of research at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and director of medicine at Stanford University.
Dzau led the charge for the effective treatment of vascular disease and, among other advancements, his research developed the foundation for the enhancement of inhibitors currently used to treat hypertension and congestive cardiovascular collapse. A board member of Singapore Health Services, among his many honors, is the American Heart Association's Distinguished Scientist Award.
