Jeudy grew raised in the New York borough of Queens. She is of Haitian descent. After leaving St. John's Preparatory in Astoria, Jeudy thought about enrolling in the State University of New York at New Paltz's performance center. She was one of the top 25 semifinalists in the Miss New York pageant during her time in school. Before playing the role of Janae Watson in the Netflix spoof dramatization Orange Is the New Black, Jeudy appeared in a number of short films. In 2014, she co-starred with Aunjanue Ellis in the free movie Romeo and Juliet in Harlem and made her system TV debut in a scene from Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
