A fresh metal band from Brooklyn, New York called Unlocking the Truth debuted at Times Square and at several New York City events. Last year, Malcolm and Jarad realized their band needed a bass player, so they invited Alec Atkins, their childhood best friend, to join them.
Alec was taught how to play the bass from scratch by the lads despite the fact that he had no prior experience. After winning the first round of the AfroPunk Battle of the Bands in August 2013, Unlocking the Truth received one of its biggest breaks.
