Dr. Uchenna Umeh has over three decades of clinical experience and is a board-certified pediatrician and Teen Expert. She graduated from Howard University Hospital's pediatric residency program after attending medical school in Nigeria. She then established her own private practice right away in South Carolina, where she worked for 13 years until being commissioned as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force. While stationed at Lackland AFB, she was the commander at Maxwell AFB in Alabama and the medical director of the Flagship Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic. She resigned from her work to begin lecturing and teaching the public about depression and suicide among adolescents and young adults after observing an increasing number of her teen patients coming with despair, self-harm, suicidal conduct, and a plethora of other mental health concerns.
