Marine activist Tundi Agardy is the creator of Sound Seas. Environmental program assessments are carried out by Sound Seas. She joined the Coastal Resources Center after going back to graduate school to get her master's and doctorate. She also contributed to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources and UNESCO's Man and Biosphere Reserve Program.
She has authored two books about marine biology and research and served as a Senior Scientist for the World Wildlife Fund. Agardy received the Award for Excellence in Research from the URI Alumni Association in 1996 after being chosen by TIME as one of the fifty most promising young leaders in America in 1995.
