The Mountain Resiliency Project (MRP), a Himalayan nonprofit organization she co-founded, is directed by Tsechu. Tsechu co-founded ACHA Himalayan Sisterhood in New York before that and worked to empower women and girls economically and socially.
She is the recipient of the 2014 Brower Youth Award, a 2012 New York Needs You Fellow, a 2013 Udall Scholar for Environmental Policy, and a 2009 ELLA Baker Fellow.
