After graduating from Trinity High School in 1997, Troy Yocum enlisted in the Army National Guard on August 21, 2001, a few days before September 11, 2001. He developed the notion of Drum Trek while he was traveling, where he would hike across America to collect money for military families that were in need.
After serving in Kuwait with the 100th Battalion, 442 Infantry, Troy went on to implement his strategy quickly after his return. Troy Yocum is now walking 7,000 miles across the United States while pounding a drum and making a plea for $5 million to support military families all over the nation.
