Parker worked on a FOX comedy pilot that was never picked up after graduating, so he and Stone relocated to Hollywood. South Park was founded in 1997. When South Park made its Comedy Central debut, it received mostly unfavorable reviews that emphasized the show's purposefully provocative themes.
